Company principles

These carbon footprint core company principles are intended for all volunteers, board members, partners, suppliers, or any other parties affiliated with or having any relationship with 2050 Paris.

Introduction

The carbon footprint General Principles outline what we expect from our relationships and everyone working with or for 2050 Paris, as well as what they can expect from Foundation 2050 Paris. To further explain specific situations, a set of codes of conduct has been established. These codes describe how to act in the respective situations.

A) We adhere to laws and regulations. We provide complete, honest, accurate, and timely information in our reports. External reporting is prepared in accordance with legal requirements and internationally recognized standards.

B) We protect the assets and information entrusted to us. Our supporters can rely on us to handle all data and information entrusted to us carefully, discreetly, and as agreed upon. It is therefore essential that we safeguard these matters with the utmost care. Information shared with us in confidence will be treated as such under all circumstances and will not be disclosed publicly.

C) We communicate openly, honestly, and transparently with everyone working with or for 2050 Paris, our partner organizations, our board, governments, the press, and society.

 

A) We avoid conflicts of interest. Our integrity and reputation are greatly dependent on the behavior of our team members. Therefore, ensure that you (or any appearance of) avoid conflicting interests and act with integrity.

B) We do not use resources of 2050 Paris for unauthorized personal gain. Organizational resources are entrusted to colleagues and partners to perform their duties. Do not utilize our resources to benefit yourself financially or in any other way.

C) We do not demand, offer, or accept bribes or inappropriate personal gifts. Ensure that you are not susceptible to bribery, do not accept or provide bribes, and do not accept personal or financial benefits in this context.

 

A) Our supporters and partners can trust that we operate honestly and transparently under all circumstances. We will not engage in any improper practices to gain advantage. Nor will we exploit the significant position we hold in some markets. We fully comply with the relevant laws regarding corruption and bribery applicable to 2050 Paris.

B) We are confident that these laws are in line with current international legislation on bribery and corruption, including the UK Bribery Act 2010, the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions, 1997, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, as amended in 1988 and 1998 (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Amendments).

C) We require all our members, partner organizations, associates, and suppliers to fully comply with all laws related to bribery and corruption that apply to them and to combat bribery and corruption through an internal compliance program consistent with current international legislation on bribery and corruption, including the UK Bribery Act 2010, the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions, 1997, and the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977, as amended in 1988 and 1998 (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Amendments).

D) A breach of the relevant laws on bribery and corruption by any of our members, partner organizations, associates, or suppliers will be deemed a material breach of any relevant agreement and grants 2050 Paris the right to immediately terminate such an agreement or collaboration.

Our fundamental principles regarding respect and diversity:
A) We provide equal opportunities for all our volunteers and partners;
B) We do not discriminate based on age, disability, gender, marital status, race, religion, or sexual orientation;
C) We treat everyone fairly and with respect for privacy;
D) We emphasize the importance of our employees treating others fairly and respectfully;
E) We offer all our employees safe and healthy working conditions;
F) We provide our employees with a secure workplace and healthy working conditions;
G) We are committed to minimizing the risks of illness and accidents in the workplace;
H) We do everything within our power to ensure that our employees can perform their roles safely;
I) We do not tolerate any form of threat or violence;
J) We collectively bear responsibility for fostering positive relationships and a pleasant working atmosphere.

A) We are committed to fostering a culture that respects human rights. We acknowledge our responsibility and feel free to express our societal viewpoint on issues affecting the environment, the world, equality, our activities, our volunteers, and our board.

B) We adopt a zero-tolerance approach to slavery and human trafficking, and we will do everything within our power to prevent such practices. Additionally, we commit to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business transactions and relationships, and to implementing and maintaining effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in any part of our business or supply chains.

C) We expect all our contractors, suppliers, and other partner organizations to adhere to the same rigorous standards, and we expect our partners to uphold the same high demands for their own partners.

D) In the context of our activities, we support and strive to initiate developments that can sustainably benefit the environment and society.

E) 2050 Paris aims for sustainability and high quality. We encourage developments that benefit the environment and society. Society can rely on us to incorporate such initiatives, whenever possible and appropriate, into our policies. We take on our social responsibility and continually explore how to further develop it.

We refrain from involvement in partisan politics. We remain independent and impartial. We do not engage in partisan politics and do not provide loans, gifts, or donations to political groups. An individual or business effort for a political party should never be associated with the 2050 Paris brand.
