2050 Paris

In 2015, 196 countries came together to adopt the Paris Agreement and combat global warming. Countries must achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Following the Paris agreement, participating parties commenced the submission of climate action plans called nationally determined contributions (NDCs).

In order to limit warming to 1.5 degrees, countries need to reduce carbon emissions by at least 45 percent compared to 2010 levels.

The transition to net zero carbon emissions must be entirely accomplished.
